NAMMU X Piano Terra — In Nature Workshop

‘In Nature’ is a hands-on ceramics workshop hosted by Italian ceramic artist Serena Ghidini of Piano Terra Ceramiche and Jade Ruijzenaars of Nammu Ceramics and Clay Atelier.

With Serena’s practice of incorporating wild clays, granite, minerals and sands into experimental glazes, and Nammu’s approach to creating earthy objects using locally sourced clays and natural textures, both studios embrace the variations and uncertainty that come with the process.

Extending the collaboration’s themes of foraging, material and slowness, guests work directly with clay under their joint guidance — participating in this rich cultural exchange between South Africa and Italy.
