‘Reading the Landscape’ by Jon Case

ACTIVATION

Every landscape holds a story. The challenge is often learning how to read it.

In this talk titled ‘Reading the Landscape’, ARRCC Principal and Interior Architect Jon Case unpacks the design process behind Kalahari Dunes Private Game Reserve, a new hospitality project by ARRCC in the Kalahari Desert. From the selection of a single dune within a vast desert landscape to the development of a design language informed by climate, topography, and materiality, Kalahari Dunes considers how South African designers can draw inspiration from local landscapes to create work that is innovative, contextual, and distinctly rooted in place.

The talk will begin at 16:00. Please arrive 5-10 minutes earlier to find a seat and get settled.
