The Activation
Join Studio Form for a special Cape Town Design Week walk and talk exploring the intersections of design, art, science, and heritage. The tour begins at the South African Museum (25 Queen Victoria Street) at 13:00, where participants will gather before visiting the Slave Lodge and the Old Town House – three landmark IZIKO sites where Studio Form’s work in exhibition design and cultural placemaking comes to life.
Each stop reveals stories of freedom, resilience, and shared heritage through installations and displays created in collaboration with national institutions.
The experience culminates at the soon-to-launch Black Brick Gardens hotel rooftop, where guests will enjoy sunset drinks, light tapas, and an exclusive listening session hosted by Afrosynth Records. Label founder DJ Okapi will share unreleased music and discuss the visual and cultural significance of album artwork, offering a rare look into South Africa’s enduring creative legacy.
