The Brand
Founded in 2013 by Ploy Phiromnam and Guy van der Walt, Hoi P’loy creates bespoke lighting products that are well-designed, precision-made and ethically-produced. The brand has developed a reputation for a unique range of lighting solutions that push design boundaries, with inspiration coming from traditional production values that place an emphasis on long-lasting quality. “We draw on the production values, materials and techniques from the past and marry them with modern technologies and contemporary designs”. Based in Salt River, Hoi P’loy works with skilled artisans to manufacture most of their products in Cape Town. In 2024 Hoi P’loy began to branch out into high-end lifestyle goods with their Nat & Mae bespoke stationery range.
